- From Salzburg : A1 Motorway - exit Mondsee Jct 265, follow route 154 to St Gilgen, 50 mins
- From Vienna : A1 motorway - exit Mondsee Jct 265, follow route 154 St. Gilgen, 2 hrs
- From Munich : Munich motorway - exit Salzburg - Fuschl am See - St. Gilgen
By train:
- From Vienna to Salzburg , then take the bus via Hof, and Fuschl to St. Gilgen
- From Germany: via Munich - Salzburg, then take the bus to St. Gilgen

By plane:
From Salzburg Mozart airport then:
- By car - which can be hired directly outside the airport terminal. Take the A1
Motorway - exit Mondsee Jct 265, follow route 154 to St Gilgen, 50 mins - By bus - take the No. 2 electric tram outside the airport into Salzburg city bus station (approx 25 mins). Then change and take bus No.150 Postbus to St Gilgen (approx 50 mins). Buses run every every hour in the week and every 2 hours on Sunday starting 8.15am until 10.15pm. Tickets cost €5.80 one way and a weekly pass can be purchased for €19 which is more economical if you plan to visit Salzburg during your stay (correct @ April 2006).
